Picked up two of these 14" Panasonic (JVC manufactured) studio monitors for around ?30 each. So far tested with my NTSC SNES on RGB, N64 via S-Video, and 360 via Component (480i). The picture is really sharp as the max horizontal resolution on these is 750 lines. You really can't see any pixels on it, it's like looking at a photograph.

          NTSC SNES (Actraiser 2):

NGC via RGB (60Hz) Super Mario Sunshine:

          Standard def component video:

One of the monitors has an SDI adapter for interfacing with digital component outputs on professional Camcorders and studio equipment etc. I think 750 line resolution can be achieved this way:

I used an RGB SCART to BNC cable which carries Red, Green, Blue and Composite video for the sync. A SCART selector can then be used to plug in the devices.

Yeah they'd look really sharp running on this. The Sony PVM's are also worth looking out for, but I settled on these as they were manufactured in 2003.

A user at another forum said they'd bought this on the back of Shenmue 2, so I did too and I must say it's bloody fantastic:

Beautiful. Great game, but also one of my favourite MD covers along with the likes of Strider.

The cover is indeed ace. I like the fact that the logo is actually taken from a photo of the game's title screen, and they've just cut it out and used it on the cover. More innocent times!

Yeah, shoulda said. Sorry. It's both a photographic and narrative book, with many interviews of people's experiences of living inside the city alongside some fantastic photography.

Apart from that mahoosive TV in the thread below have bought a few odds and sods lately. Again, following that lightgun topic picked up the below at a silly cheap price from Hit Japan - had the US boxed set but as always the Jap version has much better artwork and a gorgeous manual:

                            Couple of small NG accessories:

And slightly bigger this really nice 2 slot (the RGB out of an MVS is the best RGB I have seen) - working on the consolization this week - will be really professional looking hopefully - powder coat gloss black, XLR connectors, Sanwa buttons, neon... :

A few carts to go with it:

These last two are not 'new' but feel like it as I just found them in storage after years - the book is quite valuable now maybe? I just bought it back in the day as I was a Defender nut:

And this is one of the best magazine giveaways ever - came with C&VG in the mid 90's and is a really well written little history:

If so then I wouldn't be surprised if that little gem is worth a bob or two - if not now, then in a few years time. Keep it in good nick, is my advice.. and get it signed if poss
