X Granada X - Mega Drive

Picked this up today having never played it before. I thought it would be worth a go though as it looked promising on Retrocore. Well the promise didn't let me down. After a mundane first level I started to see what this game really has to offer. Level 2 has it all - excellent level design, superb music and some very good sprite rotation. It all plays rather well too.

Shame I ran out of credit before level 3, but I'll be back, don't worry.

Anyone else really like this game? Does it get even better after Lvl 2?

Granada to give it it's real name (the X's are just part of the logo design) is a wonderful shooter that everyone should try out ! The first level is a bit dull but after that it becomes really good. I've never completed the game but I did manage to get to level 6 I think on the Mega Drive version and level 5 on the X68000 one. The X68000 version does look better than the Mega Drive one but not by much. Both versions are great fun to play.

I think making Granada this months Reto Game is a great idea. It'sa wonderful shooter that more people should know about.

Retro Core is my games show that goes out near the begining of every month. It's an amuture production of course that rund from 1 hour to 1 and half hours per show.
