    Wonderswan Games

The recent defense of BanDai's WS console in the NGPC Vs WS debate has made me reconsider my stance on the console (or at least give it another go). The way I see it I've got nothing to lose as they can picked up brand new for the price of a new game these days. I only experienced the B&W WS so I'm hoping to be impressed.

Anyway, what are the recommended titles for the machine?

My list at the moment is Golden Axe, One Piece Battle, Mr Driller, Rainbow Islands, Ghosts and Goblins, Rockman and Judgement Silversword (although I hear that's quite rare).

I wouldn't pay too much for Judgement Silversword unless you really want it for collection purposes. Its not bad but very samey (at least it is up until the point i got to) and it can be a huge struggle to make out the bullets in less than perfect lighting conditions even on a WS Crystal.

Gunpey EX is a nice puzzle game that i'd consider picking up if i were you.

How much does Judgement Silversword tend to go for?

Guilty Gear Petit 1 + 2 are very cute and quite playable, despite the WSC's silly clicky d-pad/buttons...

And it's 'only' a B+W WS original game, but Beatmania is worth tracking down, if only to marvel at the insane difficulty and the wicked (if almost entirely useless) mini-turntable that comes with it.

BTW, I'd go for a SwanCrystal if I were you: the screen is vastly improved and Play Asia still stock them for ?30ish.

I still desperately want the Gundam WSC...

I've got my eye on a SwanCrystal - ebay is awash with them and for less than ?30, too.

I had Beatmania when I got my original WS and I hated it. As you say the turntable was totally pointless - in fact the whole game was rather pointless as the speaker on the WS is awful.

You can buy a speaker amp for the WS, thus increasing the distorted bleeps and bloops of the unit tenfold

I'm a sucker for anything Beatmania-related, and especially a stupidly hard, almost unplayable iteration for a dead handheld.

              Booyaa!

In fact, today is the day I try and buy that Gundam WSC. I'm off a-looking now...

The chocobo ltd ed would go down nicely too...

One Piece Battle Collesuem in dead kol.

Ultraman too, if you liked the Snes style one on one fighters. Basically the same with better graphics.

Don't suppose anyone on here is looking at selling a Swan Crystal? All the ones on ebay are from Japan or the States, and I can't be arsed to wait a week. LOL!

There's a strange part of me that thinks of WSCs as sweet little bits of colourful marzipan and I want to buy lots of them... especially since they're pennies at the mo.

My Crystal's a wee bit knackered (i.e. it's not at all and I want to buy another one).

I may well join you in the Crystal Hunt.

Heh...join me by all means! Ebay seems to be the place to be...although I'm only after one myself.

Pocket Fighters and Castlevania was my favourite back in the day, although to be honest if you are not a fan of anime or puzzlers the machine isn't worth owning. The processor can't handle fast games.

Anyway I quite like the machine, and they are selling the crystal ones here, with Final Fantasy 1 or 2, and Digimon Card battles (or something) for a tenner.
