Aye mate... my obsession with Waverace is well documented by friends and family alike. It is easily one of the greatest games on the machine and indeed one of my all time favourites. It's shocking just how well realised the game was and it has ages better than most games of the generation.

I'm ok with Blue Storm but Waverace, much like Super Famicom F-Zero are desert island titles for me.

(And you're right, it's awful on PAL... it has borders on the NTSC version ffs so you guys can imagine how dreadful the pal version is)

**** aye, Waverace is legendary. Returned to it after a very long time recently (jump up from PAL to NTSC, you see) and I can't believe how it's aged - as in, it hasn't, not one bit. The handling is so ****ing tight that the level of satisfaction you get from overtaking around a sandy bank can't even be expressed in words.

It truly is legendary, I'm going to have to put it on again soon.

For now, though, the level of my gaming extends back to 2001 and MGS2. Not really retro :/

        Spot on !

Wave Race was and still is incredible. To this very day no game as accurately modelled water so realistically in terms of physics and the weight of the waves.
Like with what SEGA did with Rally (In terms of feeling the diff surfaces through a joypad). NCL did just the same but this time for waves.

It?s a bloody gem, and I don?t think it will ever age .

At the mo I?m loving playing Panzer Dragoon on the Saturn. Hard to think its 10 years old now (last Thursday in fact). Still looks brilliant today (EP 5 boss is fanatics), and the music score and intro kicks ass.

Also been playing a bit of Clockwork Knight II, Astal on the Saturn

Last couple of weeks, I've been playing

              Parodius Double Pack
Panzer Dragoon Saga (trying to get Excellent!! rankings on every single enemy)
              Probotector
              Puchi Carat

I'm not actually going through everything in alphabetical order, by the way - it's just pure coincidence that most of the stuff I'm playing starts with P.

My main focus at the moment, though, is the entire Ridge Racer series. Wiped all my saved games, started over from scratch to complete each game 100%. Repeating what I've already done in a couple of cases and going for a target that I couldn't be arsed reaching in others. Even bought a brand new neGcon off eBay for under a fiver, just so I could try and slice my Rage Racer times down to their lowest - it arrived today, and is proving to be difficult to get the hang of, although not to the extent I was expecting.

I've been playing through The Secret of Monkey Island for work purposes. It's still a joy to play, the humour is spot on and I'm really enjoying it.

Super Punchout at the moment. Those knockout punches are just so satisfying.
