Hmm, the first probably has the better OST even though the 3rd (really 2nd) does havea few good tunes. As far as playability goes I'd have to go with part 3. It's not an easy choice but I feel it has that little more freedom than the original plus it looks better in parts.

agreed, 3 has the playability and control you always wanted from a shinobi game
soundtrack wise revenge of shinobi is better perhaps
of course the arcade is king, a true ninja dies with one hit, none of this energy bar crap!Comment

I much prefer ROS, much more authentic and gritty. The Shinobi 3 jetski bits were utterly stupid if you ask me, and overall felt alot more gimmicky.Comment

The China town level in The Super Shinobi is excellent, with an unbeatable tune to accompany it,
I don't really care a great deal for the 3rd installment so haven't played a great deal of it, perhaps I might give it another try at some point though, can anyone sell this to me, what are its good points, other than the horse riding/jetskiComment

at the era of three kingdoms in Korean peninsular - think around the time of Dang/Song Dynasty in China or bit earlier - it was often used by armies to spy enemy's movement... so Ninja in Japan using the similar technique wouldn't be too surprising...
there's legend when the general using burning kite to lift the moral of armies after they saw shooting star - it was considered bad omen...Comment

Is three the same as X on the Saturn?
At first I really didn't like the Saturn version, but once you've cleared a few levels it all starts to fall into place and the brilliance of it hits home
The level of control is fantastic.
Shinobi II on the GG is also really good, but the arcade still reigns supreme.Comment

Revenge is loads better than Shinobi 3. I even rate Shadow Dancer over Shinobi 3.Comment

X isn't that bad just not a patch on the originals MD games. For ROS it's hands down the best Ninja gme ever made. Par 3 is great, but nothing to ROS.Comment
