Granny's Garden LIVES!

This legendary bit of software has been mentioned somewhere before, I am sure, but anyone who is around my age will remember the exciting, terrifying world of Granny's Garden on the BBC computer at school.

Imagine my suprise and delight when my nipper came out of school the other day and said that he had been "in the IT suite playing Granny's Garden"!

Apparently it is a definitive children's educational program, and has been updated for Windows!

Nice that my 6 year old is already on a retro games "tip".

Anyone remember Cave? That was a cool networked RPG type thing. I remember logging on and someone force-feeding me vodka. Random text kept appearing at the cmd prompt.

OMG, i loved this game. I was addicted to Granny's Garden at school. It was an amazingly difficult game but over years between age 6-11, we managed to get to the last level but never completed it.

Quality, and theres another similar BBC B game with Dragons or something, you have to count their teeth or make them hatch.

Oh my god! I hadn't completed forgotten about these games! I remember very vaguely playing Grannys garden, the picture of the witch brought it back. I also remember playing (and completing ) a worst witch game on the bbc. I think I used to play a game where you were an archaeologist and when you found the right treasure it transported you to ancient rome.

Games TM or someone should do a feature on 'Edutainment' games!
