Some of the platforming and puzzles in Landstalker and incredibly ****ing frustrating but It's got the best writing and characterisation of any RPG I've played. Recommended without question.

****, totally forgot that one, cheers sean. I ADORE this game, easily the best Wonderboy title I've played. (Not played 6 BTW) Some really nice music in there, too. I've got the PCE version (Dynastic Hero) and the music on that is even better thanks to the CD storage.Wonderboy in Monster World is a cracking platformer with RPG elements

Have a few spare joypads ready for Landstalker, it's a beast of a thing.
The Witches house marble puzzle thing has broken at least 3 joypads due to extreme annoyance and quick slammings of the d-pad required.
I don't believe I ever clocked it, got to the very last dungeon after the insanely long Caves of Kazalt and then got stuck. Keep meaning to play the psuedo sequal Lady Stalker on the SNES.Comment

Just thought of another couple that haven't been mentioned - Light Crusader - Treasure's excellent effort; and Gauntlet IV is decent too - the usual Gauntlet goodness but with some interesting RPG elements. Would recommend both of those, that you should be able to pick up for less that ?30 for the pair.Comment
