Chrono Trigger - someone lend me some money...

    Chrono Trigger

I've never played the game - just how good is it?

lol........... this was the game that really got me into rpgs. Id say it was ahead of its times, although many will disagree, as it did some nice tricks with the then dated snes.

Jus get the game, if you aint got the dough lend it off someone, you can get the jap one real cheap thesde days. Buy buy buy!

I didn't like it. Found it boring. I am however in the minority.

If you've never played it before, you might be better off getting the PS1 version that comes in the Final Fantasy Chronicles pack... it's the same basic game, with some anime cutscenes, but the real difference is it doesn't tend to be more than 15 quid...

Pursists may be quick to note the increased loading times thanks to loading from CD rather than cart, but I doubt that's of much concern to anyone who isn't already a Chrono freak.

You can get a cart only Snes version pretty cheap. I had mine off these forums.

It is well worht getting hold of in some form. You would be hard pushed to find an RPG with a better set of characters and storyline on any system.

It's a great game but it's not in the same league as some other snes classics. final fantasy 3 (yeah, yeah, 6 in japan -whatever), seiken densetsu 3 (secret of mana 2) and dragon quest/warrior 5. they are the cream of the crop in my opinion. chrono trigger is awesome though. the music in the middle ages is great.

Ah ... now isn't that our old friend adol's new username, since his 'adol' ebay account got shut down? Back with the sealed SNES games again ...

Presumably this means it is only a matter of time until the big 'sealed or re-sealed' debate re-emerges and everyone goes nuts about how he is / isn't the devil incarnate, how people who collect sealed games are /aren't idiots with more money than brains and if indeed the moon is / isn't made of green cheese.

                    Can't wait.

Same here. Incredibly dull RPG. if you're going to spend big money, get Secret of Mana.
