Please help identify this old arcade game

It was a space invaders type game that they had in a chippy near me when I was about 11 (so that's early 80s). It had aliens either side of the screen and "humans" in the middle and you had to stop the aliens either side getting to them.

I know this is emulated in MAME as I've played it, but I'm dammed if I can find it - I've done a really crap diagram to show what I mean.

I've played a couple of clones of this on home computers, but I can't recall the name of the arcade either!

Certainly possible... the two clones in question were named "Ape Escape" and "Cosmic Jailbreak"...
