Dreamcast Super Black D-Direct edition

Has anyone got info on this model, numbers etc...?

I know it was released several months before the coloured metallic D-Direct editions, and I know the Silver D-Direct model was limited to just 200, but I can't find anything concrete about the Super Black model (doesn't help that a lot of the DC sites are blocked by my works firewall)

It seems to be cheaper than most limited edition models, presumably because there was also the R-7 and US Sports both of which were black too. I'm going to buy another limited edition DC and I'm having trouble deciding which to go for. All info appreciated.

i'd say get R7 if you don't have and matching black BBA and black Keyboard...
getting black jump pack won't be easy though...

Not sure I want an R7, they're pretty common and the Super Black looks a little bit sleeker... personal opinion of course, but they're about the same price, so that'll be what swings it.

the replacement jet black case from d-direct is only for the top I believe???

I've checked there and it just has pictures, no details on production runs or total numbers made etc...

That machine looks excellent- even though some people would say its just a black DC- to any DC fan it's a very desirable looking piece of hardware!

Boringly, I prefer the basic white. But then, I'm merely one of many people who thinks the white PS2 is teh sexxy in comparison to the black, so at least I'm consistent. Once you get past the 'limited edition'ness of it, it's just a black console.

I'd love the blood-red Resident Evil one, though.

Well money no object I'd have a Christmas Seaman one, but back in the real world it comes down to R7, Sakura, Hello Kitty or a Super Black one - these seem to be the most reasonably priced ones. The black one is the one I know least about and I kind of like the understated look of it.

Not me, but that's the one that got me thinking about it. If I'd known how many were made then I'd have been tempted. If it was only 200 like the silver one then it's a bargain, but otherwise I'm not sure.
