The Return of The Great Giana Sisters

Sorry if this has already been posted but i've just been flicking through the music channels on TV and I've seen one of those ads for Jamster Mobile phone downloadable games. Anyway, listed with various other titles is 'Giana Sisters'.

Funny that this game should make a come back after all these years. I wonder though how long it'll be available for?

It is. I've got a fan-made sequel created for Dreamcast - pretty fun.

There's been a pretty cool Dreamcast remake available for over a year now. You can get it from many of the Dreamcast Homebrew sites. It's pretty much what the original was plus has some really retro Amiga style tunes.

Won't the Jamster version suffer the same fate as the Amiga original - Nintendo getting shirty and all copies being withdrawn from sale?

                Yes it was.

It was withdrawn from sale soon after release because Nintendo got more than a little upset. This only resulted in the title gaining cult status with Amiga owners and countless numbers of pirate copies flooded the market.

Wasn't there a GGS sequel released which didn't clone Mario Bros? It could be that one.

@Duddyroar - it was still available in Germany though... only the UK releases got pulled I believe. Having said that, it's not the easiest of titles to find in German form either.

I have the original boxed. I bought it a few days before it was pulled. 8)

The phone version won't have the excellent loading screen music from the C64 version though...

I saw an ad for this too, couldn't believe my eyes. I'd try and get it but those knid of phone games are a mystery to me, I wouldn't have clue how to acquire it.
