I should have this coming in the post in a week or so.

For those of you holding out for the PSP version - don't hold your breath. Sony didn't allow many (if any) 2D PS2 games a western release (think we'll ever see that Ys 3 remake? and I DO mean the platform version, not the new re-remake), what makes you think they will for the PSP?

And for those of us that have no wish to buy a PSP, I hope a translation group starts working on the Saturn version.

Actually I'm pretty sure people are working on a Princess Crown translation. I'll post links if I can find em.

Darkstalkers made it to the west...considering how thin on the ground PSP releases are at the moment, and given the success of Atlus' recent RPGs Stateside I think Princess Crown will make it over, probably published by Atlus themselves.

And me. Pretty, pretty please with cherries on top.

Seriously though, are there many copies of this doing the rounds in Japan? Its a game I've had on my 'wants' list for quite a while now but there never seems to be many copies turning up on ebay.

When I visited a few years back, there were plenty, and going for a reasonable price even in Tokyo.

I picked up one those cheaper reprint versions, forgot the label it was under. But yeah, they reprinted it and there should theoretically be plenty.

Wow, I had never heard of this game until I read this. Thanks for the write up and the impressions. This does sound totally awesome. Not something I'm going to rush out and buy, but if the PSP version is any good then I'll be keeping an eye open for it.

              Thanks.

OK, I'll pop in to Hard Off tomorrow and buy all the copies they have (last I looked there were 3) so that's one for me and two extra. I have no idea how much it was but I'm sure it's cheaper than EBay

It was re-released under the Saturn Collection (the ones with the white borders and red text). I own a reprint version, but it's the second copy I've owned. The first was an original.

The reprint cost me about ?40 off ebay a couple of years ago.

The Original version is around $80 on ebay BIN but saturn-star is known for its rediculous prices. An auction usually tops at around $50-60.

The confimation of the PSP version might have caused some interest in the Saturn original.

I doubt the PSP version would cause sales to rise for the Sat version. If anything, people might want to offload their Saturn copies before the PSP release and beat the price drop.

I know I've been desperately trying to offload my copy of RSG, for fear of a possible up and coming Treasure compilation causing it to devalue. To no avail sadly.

I'm not worried about a price drop in Princes Crown, since I actually enjoy playing it and intend to keep it.

to hc collector the title alone doesn't affect.
it's combination of title and rarity on the given format...

no matter what Saturn PC will be rare and demands the high price...

if this is true the NeoGeo MegalSlug 3/4/5 should be came down a lot - and I mean A LOT - since these are ported to PS2/Xbox...

RSG is different cattle of fish...
it's not rare but just highly sought after hence its high price...
the demands outstrips the supply and pushing the price...
I had two RSG at one time with one factory sealed...
suffice to say I sold open copy for a nice sum on eBay and it only took 2 days with BIN at $115+S/H ...

Yeah, you are 100% right Dj 898, the Saturn version of Princess crown has been gathering a big supoort quite quietly for the last couple of years and right now supply outstrips demand, just like radiant Silvergun, albeit in a totally different way and not as extreme.

I saw the title several time's in Akiba and other places within Tokyo and the price was pretty high compared to the other sturn stuff, not high but high enough for the evil bayer's to command a higher price than usual. It seems to have quite the cult following, even there.

I have two copies of the game myself, one mint and sealed, the other with no instructions and a tatty old disc, this is of course the one that I played to death and loved to bits, the only gripe I had was the language thing, I had no clue what the hell was going on, still the graphics and gameplay did amaze me, and it is one of the prettiest saturn games out there.I am holding on to both my copies, maybe one day that sealed copy will make me a pretty penny, hehe.
