It was part of the Saturn's big three in '95 that included VF2 and Virtua Cop. And ten years on from its release on the Saturn, this game is still good as ever - it really has stood the test of time.
Months before the release of Sega Rally, the Saturn was seemingly having trouble replicatng the arcade Daytona USA (and was being shown up by the ps1 coversion Ridge Racer, come to think it). It left me with doubts as to whether Saturn could do a decent conversion of Sega's Model 2 racing games. When Sega Rally on the saturn arrived, however, all those doubts were brushed aside - Sega's CS team did a great job.

Graphics aside, it was the gameplay that really made Sega Rally stand out. The handling was perfect. The tracks which although they were only four in total, were perfectly graded and had more imagination put into them than a lot racing games at the time. And on top of all that, the desire to perfect your lap times and sheer addictiveness of it all makes Sega Rally an all time classic.
Game over, yeah!
