    Sega Mega Jet

    What is this thing?

It seems to be kind of accessory for MegaDrive...

Its not an acessory for a megadrive it IS a megadrive.

Its basically a hand held megadrive that you just plug into your tv, theres a cart slot on the top of it.

Hehe $199 is a bit steep from that place you got the pic from (^_^)

They are very cool as far as megadrives go but not worth that.

          thanks.
btw, I'm not very interested in gettin one.
          well, to be honest, I'd like to get one each of any MegaDrive version/variant, but there are to many (and maybe I don't even know them all), so if I don't start the collection I'll not feel the compulsion to complete it ^^;

Every variant? Get hold of those TecToy MD jobs sold in Brazil, the ones that come with like 70 commcercial games pre-built in. Theres no cartridge slot, but a 70 games is a hell of a lot better than that crap Radica sell. (well, as far as Im aware, they are all commercial. TecToy were the official Sega licensees in brazil).

sure. the ones I know so far are:

              MegaDrive/Genesis
              MegaDrive/Genesis II
              Genesis 3
              MultiMega/CDX
              Nomad
              WonderMega
              Pioneer laserdisc with MD module
Mega Tech, a Jamma board that holds MD carts
Terradrive, an Amstrad 386 with MD
              Aiwa CSD-GM1

plus, there are variants with different button colors/logos/etc...

P.S. unable to open the site linked...

Mega Jet was used for seat screens in airplanes. You could borrow them for long flights. Well, its something else than watching some cheesy Hot Shots movies over and over :P

The Terradrive isn't an Amstrad PC - you're confusing it with the MegaPC (which is in both 386 & 486 models). The Terradrive is different.
                  There's 4 models of Wondermega (RG-M1/RG-M2/Sega/X'Eye)
There's all TecToy's different MegaDrive 3 models aswell. And Samsung's Korean MegaDrive, and probably more too...

I wouldn't pay more than ?60/?70 or so for a Mega Jet - they're not that hard to find really.

The TecToy systems all have cart slots (apart from their Master System Handy).

Heh when I was coming back from America back in 2000 every seat had it's own remote/control pad and it was all hooked up to a SNES system you could play... mine didn't work tho

                        Some planes still have those.

over on the old edge forums, they had a big multi buy for these, they were ?46 each in the end i think with a game.
seem them on ebay for more than double that now

Isnt there some sort of myth/folklore about that. Did it all go horribly wrong or something?
