Saturn Karaoke

As if the Saturn isn't cool enough, I discover this morning that it plays karaoke discs!!! After showing my (very impressed) wife, I belted out a quick bit of Elvis before work. Absolute quaility.

Knowing how the Japanese love their karaoke, did they ever release any peripherals relating to this capability? Yakumo - am looking at you for answers on this one.

You can get a Hitachi Karoake Unit (for the Hi-Sat). Not too sure if sega made one or not! (I have the md one though)

Dreamcast had a karaoke unit too, songs could only be downloaded though.

Yakumo has a funny vid of him trying him out on his FTP - not sure if it's him singing or cats being strangled though

I have the Saturn and Dreamcast Karaoke units The Saturn one is made by Hitachi but works fine on the normal Saturn as well. Looks like this.

VideoGameImports.com had a Saturn Karaoke unit for about a year or so at ?99 quid!

It might be gone now though.

OT:
hell my old man actually bought the big giant machine - the same one they use at the Karaoke bar complete with Network connection to d/l new songs from the factory... and he even got the disco ball and light fitting to go with it... I even helped him to see up a small LCD TV so you can see the lyrics on the screen while the big PDP behind shows the clips.... and as he wasn't happy with the output I changed the amp and sub amp at least four times with matching speakers... talk of crazy... still mom likes and that's what matters as far as he's concerned...


And every time he upgrade the karaoke machine I'd get his old unit - but since I don't use they are all packed up in the storage room... Dunno why he doesn't get rid of 'em... (though I must say I have no objection him sending me his old digital camera and video camera.)

does anyone have parents crazy about karaoke?
