    Jaguar recommendations

Ipicked up a Jag and Tempest 2000 the other day, which is absolutely brilliant as I expected.

I also got Iron Soldier and Cybermorph but they turned out to be shat.

Can anyone recommend any more Jaguar games or is it really a one title machine?

It's a one title machine, seriously. AvP has aged terribly.

        Should be a short list

Not much to recommend I'm afraid besides Tempest, Raiden is pretty decent though.

Better than the MD/SNES versions but not as good as the PS1 version, but at least it's cheap and has battery back up.

Doom was really good on the machine at the time. I`ve still got Wolfenstein and it`s good for a 10 minute laugh every couple of years

doom is alright, john carmack helped work on it apparently and said it was one of the best versions of the title.

buy rayman, great game, i bremeber seeing it back in the day and it totally blew me away, the magical cartoon world rayman exsists in is still beautiful to look at to this day. Certainly a must buy for the jaguar.

Alien Vs Predator - It hasn't aged THAT badly. Certainly not as bad as Wolfenstein, and I personally still enjoy it more than the original Doom, due to the choice of 3 characters. But it is limited due to only one visual plane (as opposed to Doom which had raised sections).

Defender 2000 - Also by Minter

Battlesphere - ?100 to ?1000 in price, depending on eBay's whims. A neato 3D space blasting game, made in limited quantities, which also supports a ridiculous amount of simaltaneous players thanks to the Jag link-up. Though you're unlikely to find anyone else with a copy to take advantage of this.

Black Ice White Noise - Was this a Jag CD game, or a Jag cartridge game? Since I've heard that it was released in small amounts on cartridge. Not entirely sure. But the previews looked damned interesting. A kind of sci-fi Bladerunner style game, apparently.

Actually, only the first 2 games I listed are easy enough to even get hold of. I'm afraid the must have Jag list really only stands at 4 or 5 games.

EDIT: BIWN was in fact for the Jag CD. Plus the unfinished version is free to download too.

Brutal Sports Football is not a bad little game and can be purchased for next to nothing.

Protector Special Edition is a Defender clone that is vastly superior to Defender 2k. However, it will cost you about ?50.

Super Burnout is a semi-decent Hang-On clone that will entertain you for a few hours. Decent graphics, very fast, and very cheap!

In all honesty you won't get anything close to Tempest 2k (best game ever imho) - so sit back, lights off, volume up, and feed your head to the web.8)

We've got Brutal Sports Fottbal at work. I might pick it up cheap as I remember the Amiga version being fun.

Agreed had the Amiga version . Ace fun in 2 player mode, can't beat the sound effects used for the stamping , and kicking you mates head through the goals was the tops.

                          Oh happy Days

Right! I'll have Brutal Sports by Friday. Now if only I could find a boxed copy of AvP.

Also, remember that AvP comes with 3 pad overlays. I bought mine unboxed, with only 1 overlay for like ?20 on the bay of fleas.
