Border down: ?75 or ?95 for the special edition !!!

Must mean someone out there is strange enough to pay those prices.

I have always noticed for most consoles the games i want are the most expensive and its not even because there that rare

I have been after border down dont think i will get a cheap copy now

Had a quick look on ebay for zero gunner 2 cheapest i could find was $55

Prices may be rising but the vaule ie the real price is a diffrent thing alltogether,the games are only worth what lee paid for them,the prices he sells for,wether or not people pay those prices,are not the real value.Its artificial inflation.

They're not the rarest out there, but it looks like I picked up Rez, Cosmic Smash and D2 at the right time.

I hope the DC doesn't end up doing a Saturn. One of the great things about the console is that most of its forgotten hard(ish)-to-find classics are still relatively cheap by normal retro standards.

Exactly. As yet there is no title comparable to Radiant Silvergun and certain other Saturn rarities - although Samba is always pricey, and PAL-wise, Rez, SFIII and a few others command ?30+ quite regularly - although when you consider that most top drawer DC games **** on current gen stuff anyway, ?30 isn't much to pay, especially when thirty of your hard earned could easily end up getting thrown at whichever is the most recent Vietnam/WWII FPS that has just come out.

Brill DC games are on these forums all the time. I picked up Capcom vs SNK 2 for less than ?15, and there is a US Third Strike up for grabs for the same money. These are incredible, must own fighters. Bangai-o can be had in Gaystation for under a tenner, ffs.
The key with some of these pricey recent shooters is to continue supporting the console by buying on release. That way, you get the game cheaper than waiting for a year, and it may spur people on to make us some more lovely DC games!

I've noticed this disturbing trend also. The market has ups and downs i guess. Prices are ebay are invariably driven upwards into madness by a few obsessive individuals - a few months ago i was browsing and i swear every dc title was comparitively more expensive than it was a year ago. As for border down and zero gunner, well their prices have inflated for several reasons:

1. Theyre shooters and these titles always are good at retaining value
2. They were on limited print runs and therefore are becoming more scarce with time.
3. In anticipation of 2 new g.rev titles, Senko No Ronde and Under Defeat (spiritual successor to zero gunner 2) increased demand for these 2 games has resulted.

Border down L.E i remember was always dear but a few months ago it reached ?100 on ebay for a sealed copy. Then a few weeks ago a second hand copy (mint) went for ?102. Amid these occurances i was desperately trying to get hold of a copy, i tried everywhere and i resigned to the fact i'd be spending around ?75. VGI had a copy at that price and to add to my troubles Japanpa had a copy for ?58 but the site went down for months! I kept searching then a mint copy came up on ebay and i nabbed it for ?46 and have never been a chuffed with a videogame purchase. Oh and it was worth every penny as the soundtrack is kicking aswell!

Recently I bought Psy 2, Mars Matrix, Zero Gunner 2 and Shiki 2 but I bought doubles so I've got the doubles sealed my cupboard. Spines, proper wrapping etc....

To me it seems ironic.Cheaper when they were just released .You would spend more if they were second hand

Prices of Japanese Dreamcast games are much lower now than they were two or so years ago.

Conversly, PAL stuff doesn't appear to have changed that much - if anything some of the uncommon games have come down in price (see Capcom vs SNK, Phantasy Star Online V2).

Most of the PAL DC games were dirt cheap a few years ago and most of them still are. Shenmue II has fallen a fair bit since the xbox release (prior to the xbox version it was selling for ?40+) and a fair few games have had price increase spikes before returning to a fairly low level eg Street Fighter III, Sword of the Berserk, Carrier etc
