    Hired Guns

I dug this out at lunch and was playing it on my Amiga (it's currently setup under my TV in my living room bringing back many happy memories for me). What a game. For those that don't know it's a squad based strategy combat type game done using a Dungeon Keeper style of view.

It was so so playable. Setting up sentry guns, running out of ammo at the crucial moment, and best of all you could player co-operative multiplayer hunched round the same Amiga. Of course you could always decide to just shoot each other... which I was particularly fond of doing to my mate the minute he turned his back .

And some screenshots.... admittedly it wasn't the best looking game in the world:

Hired Guns was great. I always preferred it on my own, as it added an extra layer of strategy to the proceedings having to keep track of everyone personally. The great thing about the game was that the different player options altered the way it was played - some great design.

I haven't played it for years, but am I right in thinking Hired Guns was a DMA Design game?

Yeah it was. It had PC port too - which wasn't a bad port other than lousy sound.

I found this excellent site about it this afternoon:

Yes I think it was... and it was ace. We used to play co-op, my bro taking Cim (who in the end had to carry all the heavy junk we collected) while I played the woman with the grenade launcher. Top stuff.
The puzzles later on really made you work as a team, and really required each member to use their abilities.

        Ah, Hired Guns. Classic.

Ah yes, the lovely Cheule Siygess.

Am I right in saying that if you took the game branch that allowed you to get the banana, you were unable to complete the game properly? Or is that utter tripe?

Funny I dont remember it looking that ropey back then - how the minds eye remembers things is peculiar isn't it?

Anyway, another Hired Guns fan here. Loved the music, the characters and some of the off the wall enemies - I seem to remember some evil Teddies in there somwhere.

The number of times I boxed my charcters in trying to move blocks around was no ones business

edit: my bad they were actually Lemmings not Teddies
