    Favourite insert coin sound effects.

This would, of course, work so much better if I actually knew how the hell to rip the effects and make links to them, but anyway, here goes.

    OutRun: I love that noise.

Bionic Commando: Kind of goes dun da da dun, dun dun dun duun (might be worth checking it out in MAME, to see (hear, perhaps?) what I'm trying to get at).

Final Fight: short, sweet and basically gets the job done.

Rygar: Legendary Warrior: The bad boy of insert coin-op sound effects and in my personal opinion the best "noise" made by a videogame since records began.

Almost anything by Atari during the mid-eighties, that dull-sounding chime always sends a shiver down my spine.

Have I just created the single worst thread on an internet forum ever? You know what? I think I might just have done that.

    Nah, this thread is great

Yeah, the OutRun coin sound is also a favourite of mine.
The one for R-TYPE is actually kinda similar and is another one I like.

The cheerful-sounding little jingle for Salamander is also a winner.

        You, Sir,

        are a real gent.

Got anymore of these samples? Seriously, I'd probably buy a CD of this (come on, let's be honest here) pap.

Am I getting a bit Nathan Barley?

'Fraid not. Had a google for some more, but couldn't find any decent ones.

I did find this and this though, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

            Happy birthday...

            Cheers, Mr K,

Going off on a bit of a tangent here, doesn't Street Smart represent the start of the KOF series? Just listen to that soundtrack.

That one stage has Billy Kane's (original Fatal Fury Theme). Does it not? Also I'm sure Big Bear/Raiden is in there.

EDIT: I can't be sure of this, But I think that last post of mine may have belonged in another thread, sorry about that, and all.

The best Insert Coin sound has to be from Galaxy Force II

I remember the coin mech on the Turtles 4 player machine getting stuck at our local arcade. The four of us playing it just hammered our credit buttons for all we were worth, the arcade was deafened by 'cococococococococococcowcowcowcowcowcowcowcowcow COWABUNGA'

Another vote for Salamander here. And Defender is a good one, also.

The best one was from Sinistar....I HUNGER!

And that little fanfare from Forgotten Worlds was great as well. As was the Space Harrier one.

                          Fantastic shout, Seany.

While we're on a CAPCOM tip, I too also nominate the insert coin sounds from the Street Fighter 2 and Final Fight coin-ops.

                            Marvel vs Capcom 1.

                            Let's go crazy!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure it had that many exclamations.

Another vote for Final Fight, short and sweet. Alot of the Capcom sidescrollers had great insert credit sounds - Willow, Captain Commando etc

Not strictly an insert credit sound, but I always remember the 'continue' from Altered Beast

                              "Never Give Up!"
