    Dreamcast - Jamma adaptor

Hi, I know these exist but I'm having trouble finding one on the net. Ebay doesn't seem to have anything and google doesn't really come up with much. Looks like Lik-Sang used to sell them but don't seem to any more. Anyone got any ideas where I might find one? Or just more information about where they were made etc?
    Thanks!

Sign up on www.killercabs.com and ask the same question there mate. Someone should be able to point you in the right direction. I know Dave over there has one of these. It is a great website that will be able to help you with pretty much anything cab-related.

    Go!

Forgive the probable stupidity of this post, arcade setups aren't something I'm really that informed about... but what would this allow you to run? I'd assume not Naomi gear since they'd have a different bios, right?

I think what our man here is after is an adapter that allows a DC to be connected to a JAMMA compatible cab. So it will just run DC games, albeit in a cab. A bit like putting a MAME PC in a cab, really. And let's face it - the DC is the closest thing you can get to having a Naomi board anyways.

Is a cool bit of kit - if you have a decent enough cab.

Yeh essentially that's it. I remember the arcade near where I lived in Australia had CvS2 on one of these, it was dressed up like a normal cab but had loading screens and would lock the player controls out once you'd died, so you couldn't even enter your name or hurry up the 20 second (!) continue countdown or actually continue in the first place if you wanted to, which was a bit stupid.

you can get the home made special thats literally just a loom - or the more expensive one that is actually a logic board too and as the guy said above, was often used in arcade machines as a cheap naomi, I heard people coming back from HK saying they saw Virtua Tennis 2 and it was so obviously the DC version, but the logic board was controlling it so that it was locking you out from freeplay etc.

Yeah, I've found little information about them, but I'm after something like the j-pac. It would let me output the video from the DC into the arcade monitor and control the game using the arcade control panel rather than a DC controller. I think I'm already registered over at KC so I'll go give it a shot. Thanks for the advice.

There's a 6 page topic on here about them. Lots of pictures as well.

You can hook up PS2's and Xboxes with big harddrives as well. Make it like MAME for modern consoles. Just pick your title out of the list.

Thanks, having a look through there now. Had a couple of offers of ones for sale but they seem a little pricey so far so I'll keep looking. Hopefully one will pop up on ebay sooner or later.
