Megadrive racing games

Having been of the opinion that retro racing games were not really worth playing anymore, ive had a change of heart and am intrested in finding out what racing games are avaliable for the megadrive and how playable are they today?
In my mind i can picture loads of them but with the exception of Virtua racing, i cant put a name to any of them. Help me please.

Outrunners.........I actually dig the Megadrive version despite the obvious. Outrun too, hardly difinative, but if its all you got it's a good enough version.

How about Technocop lol.........

I know its not driving strictly, but I like Bimini Run a lot.

I dunno if it counts as a "real" racing game, but it was easily the best fun racing game the megadrive ever offered up

You're probably thinking of Outrun 2019, which is gash. Outrunners was only released in Japan & the US.

Super Monaco... That was alright.

it was but last time i played it,about 6 years ago it hadnt aged very well. God knows what its like now? Thats what sort of formed my opinion that retro racing aint worth playing.

Oooooo Road Rage was one of those games that magazines loved, but I hated... Bit like skitchin' ft:

Super Monaco really shows off quite how terrible the Megadrive's sound chip could be.

Which is about as close to Super Sprint as you'll get on the MD.
Oh and Micro Machines too, but I can't stand MM games, I think they're ****. Too speedy so you can't see what's coming up, so it ends up in multiplayer just seeing which of you only falls off 1000 times as opposed to 1001. Boring!

Any top down f1 games, im sure there are? As for road rash, yeah i remember all the mags loving that too, i couldnt understand why too.

F1 Super License is top down and F1.
It's a big pile of stinky **** though.
