Adult Japanese Saturn titles

What's the best one in terms of maximum rudeness factor?

What do these titles generally consist of, it is mostly strip pokery type stuff or are some of them like interactive stories etc?

I remember reading in the Edge RETRO special that any Saturn titles marked with a yellow banner/warning were the rudest.

I realise that none of this stuff is likely to be X rated but I'm curious to find out what the deal is with these games.

I have more experience in the DC side of things, but it seems very similar, more your interactive story type games, often watered down Hentai games too (Family editions, take out the sex and aah, a cute story).

Never heard about this yellow banner though, got an example?

I have no actual examples to show but I think it is like a warning on the spine cards...yellow was said to indicate adult content or material of an adult nature.

I could be wrong, I'm sure other forum regulars will either confirm or deny this.

Either way, this is why I love import games, Japanse stuff is usually alot more interesting and risque.

The closest I got to risque gaming was 'borrowing' my mates Maria Whitaker poster that come with an old Speccy fighting game, can't think what it was called, might have been 'Vixen' but again, I could be wrong.

yeah games with adult content have a yellow box such as saturn steam hearts, then there is a red box which is for games with more extreme adult content

I think the tab you are reffering to is on the front on the instructions, bottom right hand corner..green, yellow or red depending upon the severity of the adultness.

THe best one which I also own (got most of them ) is The Konya wa 12-kai Ikusa Yakyuu Ken Special


In this game the women strip off every time you win Janken. They take off their entire kit ! Tits bouncing around and even a bit of down below. The tennis woman is the best I think. BUT the compture AI is a cheating sod so you'll probably only ever win using an Action Replay. Or you could get the saturn cinipack codec and watch the movies on your PC The price for this game did drop last year but now it's back up there at around 4000 yen !!

By the way, also notice how this game has NO rating on it !! Very odd indeed and yet it is an official release! Probably the only other one to come close to this is Playboy Karaoke which I also have NOt that I'm in to these games but just from a collectors point of view.

I don't get the attraction of this sort of game at all, apart from to a collector. Most of the actual game mechanics are crap (bad versions of qix and poker, janken) and if I wanted porn I'd just get it. But hey, whatever you want is ok by me

Did the game originally come with official SEGA tissues. ( MAN SIZED ) but I'm guessing these are even rarer than the games themselves right

I agree with vertigo to a certain extent, there is loads of good porn out there on the web if one should want it BUT for some reason I just love the idea of adult games on consoles.

The one Yakumo showed looks great, I just find the whole concept of adult software truly bizaare but at the same time highly entertaining and to be honest, the mere mention of tits bouncing around immediately grabs my attention.

I just wish that the western division of these software companies had the same attitude as our far eastern friends, all we seemed to have when I was at school was Leisure Suit Larry.

Just thought I would explain a little more about the Saturn rating system. As the other mentioned it comes in three colours, Blue/Green, Yellow, Red or as I like to call them:

Blue/Green = Safe
Yellow = Naughty (Light nudity)
Red = Filthy (Heavy nudity)

Original they used the colour Blue for "safe" games but this was changed to Green very quick, so only a handful of game have the blue logo, Gotha being one. I guess they wanted a traffic light colour system.
Now it look like publishers could agree to use this system or not. As Sega and Capcom games all have the rating system on them but Konami and Masna games don't have the rating system on them.

Just check out Dracula X or The Parodius's on the Saturn as you can see no green box on the cover, hence the reason why some games don?t have the yellow or red marks when they should.

Also a Yellow rating is slight bizarre in it's award, as both the Japanese versions of Exhumed and Revolution X have Yellow certs. Japanese extras perhaps?
But as Yakumo said the PC Engine was the real porn console, in fact a lot of the Sega Saturn titles are just watered down PC Engine games. Not that I've ever played any titles of this nature or a PC Engine, I?ve just heard about it honest!

Well at least Games Express (Hacker International) gave us Hi-Leg Fantasy which is a pretty decent game. Most of their other offerings are a bit crap though.
