Best possible display for a JPN Saturn

Hi, I was just wondering what our Saturn friends here consider to be the most suitable cable for getting the crispest and best display from a JPN Saturn on a CRT television, which has RGB enabled scart sockets?

Are there any alternatives to the bundled cable that comes with the Saturn out of the box?

    Cheers

BTW I tried using the 'Ask The Forum' section but I couldn't post there so I had to try here instead, thanks.

Go to lik-sang.com, buy their RGB SCART lead for ?3. I have one, it's great.

    That is all.

A Hantarex 28" video wall cube made in Italy for professioal applications. They live forever and the picture rules supreme.

Curved screen. Authentic man. Pure late 80's / ealry 90's.

None of this moden flat screen stuff. The use specified in this thread is for a Jap Saturn. So for old school gaming the Hantarex is th ebest I have come across. Arguably as good if not better than Nanao arcade cab monitors.

Second hand on fleabay can be had for a hundred to two hundred dollars here in Australia whenever they pop up.

If you check with the Hantarex website, http://www.hantarex.com and email them, they should be able to direct you to a re-seller that might sell some second hand. That a lot of if's and maybe's, but the monitors are worth it, and I could never go back to a normal framed TV, even an RGB one. Or if you have the cash, buy new. I think around AU$1200 will buy an RGB only 28/29" MGG here in Australia.

If you in the UK, check the website, and email Norma Hunt, and tell her a guy named Ron Grounds from Australia (she has never heard of me) recommends Hantarex for video gaming:

What kind of self-respecting individual would play old 2-D games on a flat screen?

I wouldn't use a 16.9 screen but I do like a flat-ish screen. My TV is a 24 inch Sharp that's about 6 years old but not RGB It does have Surround Sound, twin S-Video in, 4x AV in, Bilingual and other crap that Japanese TVs have but like I said no RGB Still, S-Video looks nice on my Wondermega, Saturn and Dreamcast. Unfortunately I only have AV for my Mega Drive which looks like crap. I'm really looking in to getting a nice RGB screen but in Japan RGB TVs with scart are hard to come by since the mid 90's.

Here's my aging TV as it was 10 minutes before this post.

Hahah, yeah. The scene was just changing as I took the picture. I bet if I tried I'd never get that shot

time to dig up an old thread. Just bought a Saturn but the scart it came with is buggered. one of the pins is bent. borrowed my mates to check this and the picture's much improved. Anyway ordered one from console plus and its arrived but it doens't auto-switch the tv to the saturn (my mate cable does)

Any idea where i can get one from?

Send me your cable and I'll make it auto switching if you want. Its likely incorrect wiring.

I do have a few cables left though, which are auto switching directly from the factory.

Send me a PM or something and I'll help you out either way.

Some how I have bought 3 RGB cables in the past and none of them worked on my tv back in Holland. Japanese RGB cables etc. just nothing works. Maybe my Saturn is broken and I should get a new one
