    Japanese MD boxart

Anyone know where I can find a good repository of Japanese Mega Drive boxart? Without water marks if possible.

VGI http://www.videogameimports.com/ wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Well I'm specifically looking for the cover for the Japanese version of Speedball 2. VGI don't have it. Play-Asia do but its covered in watermarks.

Speedball 2 is still great after all these years.

Is this for an article you're writing?

Any particular advantage/disadvantage of the Megadrive version compared to the Amiga?

Haven't seen or played the A500 version in over a decade, but it looked pretty-much identical to me on the MD. I didn't hear the "Ice Cream!" guy though, so maybe that's missing.

I owned both the A500 and MD versions (wasn't I the lucky one) at the same time and I'd say the Amiga game was superior. Why? Well, the audio in the Amiga game seemed a lot more, shall we say, clunky (but clunky in a good way). This gave the proceedings a greater feeling of solidity (if you know what I mean).

Of course, others may disagree, but for my money I'd say the Amiga game is the definitive version.

I think the MD version is missing the 'ice cream' voice effect too, isn't it?

                    EDIT - Didn't read Kubrick's post, d'oh.

                    Both versions are great, TBH.

If I remember right, you needed to have 1MB RAM in your Amiga to hear that dude

I think it was missing from the ST version too.

That's no great shock though, is it?

I prefer the ST version actually. Because the pitch didn't have the big stupid star on it. Not an issue on a telly I guess but the GBA version uses the 'Amiga' pitch and it's not as clear on the tiny, badly lit screen.

Yeh when Speedball 2 was all the rage I played it on the ST too, only recently had a bit of experience with the Amiga version on an emulator.
The Megadrive version, if I can get it, is obviously far more accessible as I don't have an Amiga. That's another one on my want list then, as long as the gameplay works the same. I'd rather have no Mr Ice Cream at all than the Megadrive's efforts at voice, if that's ok by you
AFAIK the GBA one had a few things that didn't work properly. For example, you couldn't score a goal by charging the ball up and then rebounding it off the bouncer.
