    Wireless pads for the Dreamcast?

Were there every any wireless controllers for the Dreamcast released? not fussed about official or not, but just wanted to know. I'm going for a wireless setup of all my consoles, and the DC is the only one i've hit a stumbling block on.

Come to think of it, I havent found any N64 ones yet either.

    Anyone know anything more?

    Cheers!

I've seen some DC wireless pads. It was somewhere like Lik-Sang or Lan-Kwei. They don't look anything like official DC pads, and have no VMU socket, iirc.

I'll see if I can find them, but they do definately exist. And I'd swear I've seen a real crap remote N64 pad.

      Edit: Here we go chap:

The VMU plugs into the receiver on the pad port.

Yesyesyes! Excellent detective work Monkey! what's even better, is that they look like Saturn pads!

So, any leads on N64 ones? My wireless setup is now nearing its completion! (well, after I buy it all)

That looks cool, but what about analogue control? I assume that's a no-go? Cause many games use both the analogue and D-Pad.

Hmmm, not too sure about analogue on that pad. Maybe the D-pad will also function as an analogue stick, just digital. Otherwise there's loads of DC games you won't be able to play properly, or at all.

The only real problem I can see is that it's Infared and not RF remote. Newer RF pads like the Wavebird are great, you can use them through walls. Older IR pads are a bit crap. If the dog/cat/small child/pokemon gets between you and the console, you're ****ed.

As for the N64, I'm so sure one exists. But that was years ago, and I've searched but can't find anything.

So, out of interest, what other remote pads do you have/are getting? I have a Cosmo Xbox pad wired internally into the XBMC. Looks just like an S-pad and on the very, very rare occasion I've used it, I've found it to be fine.

Agreed, I bought the official Saturn wireless pads and they were pure crap. You have to point the thing directly at the receiver, any movement at all and it doesn't work. Plus you have hold the pad in a flat / horizontal manner which will cramp your hands in no time. Either it's RF or no deal I say.

there were few 3rd party ones but none worth your dosh I'm afraid...
I've been looking for one myself over 5 years now and yet to come across something similar to Saturn/MegaDrive official ones...

my saturn official cordless pad works fine and has fair degree of movement even though it being IR... Are you using official white one?

They were black official ones, nice pads but they were just unusable for me.

by saying black I assume they are PAL version?
I dunno all four white wireless pads I have fair bit of freedom - you only point the direction of console and I normally sit on my bed and the console would be at the floor - some 70+ cm below...

Well, i know they do some for Xbox 1, the ones you posted about sound great.
I'll also be after PS2, DC, Sat (I'll get the official white ones), N64, and MD, which of course doubles as MS
Werent there official MD ones? Any good? Nothing will get in the way, and my room is small so i'll be close to the reviever anyway. I just want it all ready and hooked up so if a mate happens to come by, we can just pick it all up instead of faffing about.

Oh, i'll be getting 360 and GC too, but they're self explanatory.

there was official Sega wireless pad for MD of course.
But finding the working set at reasonable price isn't too easy especially when you are after the complete set with minty box and etc. Whether they are good since I haven't used one myself I wouldn't know but I believe it'd be typical IR type wireless pad...

only console I don't have wireless pad are N64 and DC. I don't use N64 that often unless you want to play some F-Zero action with the construction kit on 64DD setup so there's really no need for one. with DC I haven't found one good enough to replace the wired one yet...

I have those IR pads for the dreamcast. They are ok, the range and reception is good.

There are some actual third party RF Wireless pads for the Dreamcast with pads which look like an N64, but they are quite hard to get ahold of apart from bargin bin shops in the US..
