Best Neo Football title?

I've been after a footie title for a while now for the AES, trouble is I don't know which one to get.

I know of the following titles-
Super Sidekicks
Super Sidekicks 2
Super Sidekicks 3
Super Sidekicks 4 / Ultimate 11
NeoGeo Cup '98
GoalGoalGoal!

Whats the recomendations? Does NeoGeo Cup play differently from Sidekicks, and is it worth the extra cash? Do the sidekicks series vary much, or are they pretty much the same?

And Please don't suggest Ultimate11, as I've not got a spare 5 grand lying about

Tecmo World Soccer '96 is good fun on the Neo-Geo - totally old-school arcade-style football, but easy to pick up and play.

Soccer Brawl is fun as well - but isn't really 'conventional' football, if you know what I mean.

As for the Super Sidekicks series, Super Sidekicks is more arcade-style and fast-paced, therefore it differs greatly from Super Sidekicks 2 & 3, which are pretty similar to each other. I don't know about Super Sidekicks 4 though.

Cup '98 is just an improved version of SSK3 I believe. I'll know soon enough when SSK3 arrives.

Definetly goalgoalgoal. Where in any other football game do the players run FASTER diagonally than just straight forward or across the pitch. And how could i forget, shoulder barging is allowed in football!

Contrary to popular believe, despite looking the same, SS2 & 3 play very differently, 2 is loose and 3 is tight as a nuns minge. That's good like. Cup 98 is the same game, probably has less teams tho, i dunno.

Soccer Brawl or Super Side Kicks 3. Are good games and reasonable price on the AES and cheap as chips MVS. You can pick up Ultimate 11 on teh MVS pretty cheap aswell.

Soccer Brawl is my favourite Neo football title. I remember when I first saw it in a Brighton Arcade back in 91, and it was on a really big 30" screen. I was in awe, and I really wanted to get a Neo. It's a shame the game never got ported, because I think the snes or md could have done a good job with it!

I'd love to have played Ultimate 11, but I ain't so I'd have to go for SS3 aswell for realism (!) but followed by Soccer Brawl if you don't mind a bit of fantasy in your footy like Soccer Slam by Sega.

Another vote for Soccer Brawl. One of the best 2 player games ever made. Why SNK never ported this over to the MD or Snes I'll never know .

Just picked up a minty looking copy of Sidkicks 2 for about ?16 shipped, so just waiting for it to arrive now

though soccer brawl seems to be good from what you guys are all saying, so i''l keep an eye out for that one too
