Yeah.. Legend isn't very good. The graphics are nice though, with big sprites and lots of animation and detail, but the actual gameplay is overly monotonous and soon gets boring.

If only the developers had instilled some decent ' fun factor ' in to a game that had a lot going for it!

2 Crude Dudes is a funny game, and definitely worth owning!

Cheers for that and the other replies. And yeah, that game I was trying to remember was indeed Rushing Beat 2.

Anyone happen to know of a site (I stumbled across it ages ago but can't remember it) that has info and pics on these sort of games? I think it was Italian of French or something...
Hi, I'm after rushing beat 2 on the SNES but was it ever released in the US or UK???
I have the 1st and 3rd ones (jap) at the moment but i remember playing the second one and it was much better because it also had guns and some big dude in a karate suit ! !

I know the first one was released in the west (renamed RIVAL TURF) but i've never seen the other two, Anyone know if they were ?

And other great SNES walk along beat em ups are -

Turtles IV Turtles in time ( fantastic game )
Final fight 2 And 3 , Both SNES exclusives ! ( The second one is the best )
      Final fight guy
      Double dragon 4
Battletoads in battle maniacs ( made by RARE and is a laugh ! )

      Chris

P.S. I recently got capcom classics for the PS2 and noticed that final fight has much shorter levels than the SNES version ! Is this an arcade perfect version ? If so then the SNES one is better ( apart from the fact that you can't use Guy !)

It's all about the arcades for teh scrollers. I regularly play plenty of scrolling action on my illegal ROMS using MAME and the Gamebox.

Tenchi Wu Kurau II, Final Fight, Aliens vs Predator, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Shadow Over Mystera are all awesome. Then you have Vendetta, Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder, Alien Storm, Undercover Cops, Dynamite Dux, Knights of Valour, Demolish Fist.........

Saturn got poor versions of the D&D games, good version of Tenchi Wu Kurau....also the PS1 port of Captain Commando is superb.

I love that game. It gets a lot of negative reviews but I think it's great. I love the shift in gameplay from side scrolling to faux-FPS and then the running levels.
            Great stuff.

Rushing Beat 2 was released under the English name of Brawl Brothers and sports some really awful boxart.

there was this game where you could go a knight, a magician and a ninja and it was on an isometric plane, you started in the dungeon and the knight had a ball and chain wepon that would spin around and destroy enemies on screen, now that was a fun game, problem is i dont remember the name. Can anyone remember the name of this game, perhaps a screen shot too? Sorry hazy memory of when i was like 12 years old!

'cos there is no way the MD could do a good conversion of it?

It's called Dark Seal, I was playing it on Mame the other night. I think it's by Data East and there is a sequel too but that wouldn't seem to run for me. Nice looking game and pretty fun in short bursts.

[QUOTE=Shoju]I never realised those 2 were ported to the SNES. I was always on the look out for good scrolling beat em ups and I would have really like those (dam lack of information back in the day). King of Dragons looks alot like Capcom's Dungeons & Dragons games. Instead of them I had to make do with crappy Legend.

Some joker is trying to sell a cart only sfc king of the dragons on ebay at the mo for ?20! Shame, id have given him a fiver for it.

Totally agree! Alien Storm is one of the best SEGA games ever made. It' just so gripping and far more eventful than a lot of scrollers. There is something manic about it as you traverse the levels and enter shops to blow things to pieces etc.. It's one of the only games that has interested mates of mine that usually dislike scrolling fighters.

I remember getting the Japanese import for the Megadrive back in the day, and I used to play and complete it many all the time!

I played that back when I was about the same age. Really good fun and a bit like guantlet. It's a huge shame they don't make co-op scrolling fighters anymore.
