One of my favourites was finding the two hidden islands on level one of toejam and earl. All the extra prezzies and the joy of level zero. Level zero the land of hot tubs with naked hula girls, why would you leave.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours on the SNES - can't remember all the details but the secret level was VERY hard to find and contained more humour from the production team - can anyone remember what is was called..??

And that level on Super Mario where you ran accross a flat level collecting coins that spelled out how good you were....today is a very vague day, anyone remember what this said....it was at the end of star road after you've done everything!

            Doom

while i do not remember the secret level at all now i do remember the satisfaction of finding it.

Castlevania symphony of the night i would not call that a secret level more a secret game

Still finding twice as much game felt good though

Doom 2 (I think) - not a secret level as such but if you put the cheats in to fly and walk through wall you could pass through the face of the last boss and see the main programmers head on a stick! Great!

                  YOU ARE A SUPER PLAYER!!

Or something to that effect, I think - I can't quite remember, either. But it was a touch of class, undoubtedly.

The two hidden stages in Edge Master Mode of Soul Calibur were a nice surprise after beating it.

Was there a secret level in TMNT the arcade machine? I remember being told that there was, but I never found it.

Not as far as I saw, and we played it a hell of a lot one holiday

Anyone else miss holidays as a kid, where you'd spend most of your time in the arcades? Shame now we're a bit older we have the disposable income but we're more inclined to go and look at things like scenery and fresh air like grown-ups. Also, there are a lot less arcades with good games in
My primary/middle school was 10 minutes walk to my house, yet Silver Screen video in Greenford meant that it used to take me 3 hours to get home

Those were pretty good but I remember the 'oooooh' factor I got the first time I saw someone take an elevator up and then run across the top of the blocks at the top of the screen! My god, it was a revelation. "He's not even in the screen!"

Super Tennis: I'm not sure if you could get there any other way (we only ever played 2-player - a lot), but I remember getting a code from a magazine which gave you the special match in a quasi-hell setting, against a bald-headed monk looking bast who was lethal.
