No, duck corp is the True Motion codec (also have that player). Cinipack for saturn is by a company called raidus or something like that. There are two players for it. A stand alone player that doesn't seem to run too well under windows XP (Made for win '95 originally) and a code plug in for any player. I'm pretty sure that the video footage on Street Fighter Real Battle on Film is cinipac or then again it could be compressed to SDF format but I doubt it. If you can't find the player I'll see about ripping it to Xvid MPEG 4 though a few filters to clean up the image.

      Darius Gaiden any good?

Oh is the PAL version of Layer Section - Galactic Attack any different to LS?

What other go Shoot Em Ups are worth getting?
Is there anything like Gunstar Heroes.

I decided to invest in a Saturn about a year ago. I ended up with two, both Japanese. I have a cart that allows me to play PAL games, a step down converter and a scart lead. It's now one of my favourite consoles. There's Vitual On, NiGHTs, Vampire Savior and lots of other excellent games.

I now have 6 scart leads and one of those scart blocks is becoming essential...

Darius Gaiden is one of the best games.

Gunstar Heroes maybe not, but Guardian Heroes by the same peeps is also one of the best games. Ever.

I?m also looking at getting a Saturn but have these questions;I?m assuming that the PAL machine doesn?t support 60hz, that being the case are the Jap versions of say Virtua Figher 2 running on a Jap machine much better as they run smoother.

If I get a PAL machine with this cartridge device that allows import play would the imports then run at 60hz

No you need to intall a 50/60hz switch that lets you toggle between both rates. I've recently got a pal saturn plus action replay and booted xmen vs sf and i wasnt enamoured with the results. Slow as hell, borders, game cut off on one side and awful sound issues.

My advice get a jap saturn as all the good games got released over there.

If your serious about the Saturn then don't bother with the pal version. Although most jap games should run on a pal saturn with import cart they will always run at 50 hz (unless modded) often with sync issues. The difference between pal/jap versions is noticable, a few pal games actually feel like they are running on a different machine because they are so poorly converted.
