Mayham - I don't want to sound rude, but please explain what the point is in getting a complete gamecube collection? It has about 20 classics and then the rest are ports or childrens TV show tie-ins :P Please don't tell me you have the Spongebob games!

Why do people collect anything? Actually I understand where you are coming from, but eventually I would like to have complete SNES/N64/Cube collections in my possession. I just seem to be working from the newest first

And yes I have the Spongebob games... though I haven't stooped to grab a couple of the really child orientated games such as Dora the Explorer just yet

If you look at the list I do have here (US titles)... http://www.mayhem64.co.uk/misc/gamecubegames.htm

I defy you to say there's less than 20 great games in there, and the rest are ports (when many were multiformat releases anyhow) or TV tie-ins (there are many for sure, but so do the other two systems in the US at least).

I haven't spent huge either... most of the games I've gotten for under $15 each easily, many for under $10. A good exchange rate (for us) and the use of 10% off used price cards in game shops in the US helps quite a bit.

@Emir - once I move my stuff to the new flat, hopefully it should all be on display. Until then, you'll just have to do with the list above (as a lot of titles are already boxed up for moving).

I've pieced it together in about 2 years... I had about 60-70 titles when I started and now I've got over 500. Given the fact I've gotten most of the C64, Vic20, NGPC, 7800 and Vectrex titles I want now in my possession, I had spare collecting money to go somewhere and it's gone on this.

I know lots of people who collect SNES and N64. I think I know about 2 others doing Cube. Hell I know more PS2 collectors and there's more titles and far greater costs involved with that. About the most you'll spend on a Cube title is $40-50 and there's only a handful that go anywhere near that sort of price (NCAA Basketball 2K3, Bust-a-Move 3000, Jedi Knight 2, Disney Sports Basketball).

Hehe, don't take what I said the wrong way. I'm thankfull i'm not the only one who buys rubbish games 'just so' I can tell myself I have the complete set.

But I imagine even the most hardcore collectors would stay away from trying to complete the GC set, because the daught of any decent games has meant even the piss poor childrens titles retail at RRP still. I guess other collectors think the same thing so maybe you're the smarter of the two of us

I had a look at that list, only found 12 games which i'd buy in retrospect. but I wasn't a huge fan of stuff like Metroid or Smash Bros (thought the latter was downright terrible). Ever since Nintendo started farming it's franchises out to third partys to tempt them to developer for the Gamecube, i've felt the overall standard has fallen which has somewhat damaged the Nintendo franchise as a whole, in my mind anyway.

I only have 8 GC games by the way. Despite owning 3 gamecubes :P

Maybe over here, but in the US it's an entirely different matter. I should note that of the 500+ US titles I own, less than one fifth of them were acquired online. The rest have been bought physically from shops. And yes, that does mean I've had loaded suitcases coming back from trips

Nuon is worth it just for tempest 3k. As the Jag is for Tempest 2k

Indeed... I got a complete retail Nuon collection here (and IS3 is SEALED!). Only thing I need really is The Next Tetris.
