SF4 clearly wins, but i gave Spore a pity vote for comedy it produced.

SFIV by a comfortable margin, the last time a SF launched and made an impression on me too

Bloody hell this is a packed list.

Spelunky is all-timer for me; completely bounced off it and didn't get the hype at first, but slowly got teased into giving it a second shot, at which point it clicked completely and became an absolute obsession for me. Completely opened me up to the concept of roguelikes, sold me entirely on the idea of the 'daily challenge', just a total, stone-cold classic.

I might not look back on SF IV as my favourite SF game, but this was such a necessary jab in the arm for fighting games that I will forever be grateful. Also marks a golden age on this here forum - people actually playing online games with each other, with regular tournaments even, and then a bunch of us going down and even taking some games off some of the Capcom UK gang at their Hammersmith office. Naturally I enjoyed Super Turbo HD Remix too, but that was mostly due to hunger rather than the quality of the meal - a decent appetiser before main course though.

Tales of Vesperia was my first Tales game, and remains my favourite by some stretch. Looks and sounds great, characters are charming, battles mechanics are great, and then the story did something that caught me totally, totally off guard that I did not see coming and really took me by total surprise.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom was also bloody great. I maintain to this day this game was damned entirely by the fact no-one wanted to use the Wii for fighting games. Sticking this on the PS3 or 360 would've done so much for its longevity.

Also, debut appearance for forum favourite Style Savvy! Then there's me forgetting there was a Star Soldier WiiWare game too! Smash Brawl too! Take me back to 2008!
