More a case of a game I wish was back then... If only this port was available back in the day, then my eleven year old self would never had had to look upon the Nintendo NES PoS unit in department stores with such envy (you remember the ones which let you select one of a dozen or so games but only play 30 seconds of it?):

MGS 5's a great shout.
I wish we had gotten the full thing. We only got about 50% of it. The maps are largely empty and the storyline is completely curtailed and makes no sense. The whole third act is missing.
It's gutting when you watch the footage included with the LE of the game, which shows development footage and concept art of the rest of what was planned.

That said, watching Eurogamer readers have a meltdown in the comments when they awarded it their GOTY in 2013 will always be hilarious to me!

lol, I didn’t see that. Yeah it was a good game, I enjoyed it a lot (I bought the machine to play it). But it was fundamentally kind of a concerning point where it felt uncertain we might see something as exciting as Galaxy again. Then Odyssey came and was brilliant, thankfully.
Honestly the most exciting part of Switch 2 for me is that we’ll finally get a little closer to finding out what the next Mario is. I’m kind of out of gaming right now but I’ll probably buy a machine just to play that.

I purchased my Switch just to play Odyssey so I'm definitely in the same boat as you on that score with Switch 2.Last edited by Nu-Eclipse; 09-08-2024, 04:22.
