Okay, I love Skyrim (I'm playing it at the moment!) but I guess it's a bit janky and can be repetitive, so I changed my mind and went for Portal 2.

Not only is it a great example of a sequel that expands on the original, but it has some brilliant platforming action and the puzzles are the type that make you feel like a genius when you solve them, but a dunce for not solving them earlier.

I also found it really atmospheric as you work through the abandoned facilities and I found the snippets explaining the backstory went from funny to actually quite emotional.

Then there's a load of co-op levels that are also fun.

    I really wish they'd do a proper Portal 3.

      Voted for:

Skyrim - Which is weirdly under supported it seems, it's by far the Bethesda RPG I've clicked with the most with them seeming to be on a trajectory that makes me think there might not be too much point anticipating ES6 which makes Skyrim all the more special and unique. It's also a game that immediately comes to mind when I see Breath of the Wild praised as I think Skyrim exposes how much nonsense praise Zelda recieves these days.

Mario Kart 7 - I don't subscribe the increasing view that Mario Kart 64 was an awful entry, it has its flaws but feels incredibly revisionist of how good the game was back in the day. For me the franchise descends in quality from MK64 with each entry for the most part and Mario Kart 7 felt like a shock to the system. Like a massive (racing track) course correction that set things back in place for MK8 to scream in.

Portal 2 - The perfect expansion of the concept

Neon Ignition Your gif said "there can be only one" yet you chose 3. Cheater.

Still remember your Skyrim exploits of Mr. Pantsman and his final entry stood atop a cliff surveying the lands below that he explored.

I am a cheater who voted for 3.

          But in order:

          Dark Souls
          Battlefield 3
          Skyrim

All fantastic games and some of the most fun I've had in my gaming life. What a killer year 2011 was.

I still play Dark Souls. I did a new character over the weekend and sunk about another 20 hours in

Then found another character I had started named Barry and played him for about another 10 hours this week
