Outrun on a White Saturn...ever possible?

I have never bought the Japanese Outrun because everyone always said it would never work on the 'White' Saturn. Has anyone found any exceptions (or solutions!) to this? My Saturn is a model HST 3220. Does it matter if the CD is the plain old Outrun alone or on the compilation Sega Ages CD?

Really would love to be able to play it...

The one on the Sega Ages Vol. 1 pack definately works.

Pretty sure it's just the standalone one that does not.

My white saturn played it fine (hst-0014) check out the thread 'white saturn non-compatabilty' in retro gaming for more help er., i have a copy for sale btw

Yep, I saw that thread when searching for this last night but there was no real definitive answer.

I recently sold the JP Outrun and it worked perfectly on my white Saturn. The disc was even in a quite borked up condition!
