Just activated the palace defence system and there's a few patches of spikes. Then there were a load more under a ladder and it took me a while to realise I was supposed to be avoiding them completely. About 17% in now. Not having much time to play games at all at the moment, so it's a miracle I'm getting through this Mainly having fun.

They should make a combination of this and the warp levels in Super Mario Sunshine to form some uber-platform-fest.

I like the way you have to be careful when fighting near the girl. She can shoot you by accident with her arrows and you can slice her with your sword if you aren't careful.

I'll carry on waffling. It's gotta be said, the sheer scale of some of these caverns and castles and dungeons is pretty amazing. And the view from the ramparts with the sunsetting. Cool.

Blimey. Just noticed, Prince of Persia 1 is an unlockable in the game options. So I check a FAQ and find out I've already gone past the one point in the game where you unlock it..... gah. It's at 33% and none of my savegames go back that far. I pushed the lever the extra 90? and was a bit weirded out why it didn't do anything but didn't bother looking around, so didn't notice I should be bashing the wall in.....

Indeed. I missed that and likewise don't have any old save games. Cant be bothered playing it again just for that though.

Finished it now. 8 hours. Like the humour in the cut-scenes near the end.

Overall, a bit repetitive, but great sets and weirdly faithful to the 2D games, in terms of animation quality and puzzles. Didn't enjoy the fighting much.

There's one puzzle where if you were deaf, you wouldn't be able to do it, which I thought was a bit harsh.

I'm glad I played, but I don't think I'd play again. Shoot me, but I prefered Shadowman on the N64.

I'm really looking forward to Panzer Dragoon Orta now. Playing with a purpose has put some fire in my gaming.

Alot of people had problems with that puzzle as they had the volume turned down for some reason. To do it via trial and error would have driven me insane no less.

Well I finished this afternoon, eleven hours but I do tend to enjoy the scenery. Enjoyed it a lot, think the way you got visions at the save points was a very good way of giving you tips on how to do the following section and is something more games could do with (context permiting).

Liked getting my hands on that last sword and the vertigo inducing climb up the Tower of Dawn.

I must remember the Prince's favorite dying phrase when I next need an excuse at work, "That didn't happen!"

I'm affraid I could probally never take part in any RE:Play's due to time but I've read all threads but dide'nt know if I could post. I adored Prince of Persia SOT but although the latter instalments were good they dide'nt compare to how well the original was made.

Also the POP games have always been releaed Christmas time and now I dont own the original three I've asked for the Trilogy pack for Christmas this year.

Nope.. Can't be arsed. I was expecting big things from this and just could not get into it. Whilst the platform bits are nice, it's raped by the crappy combat. Feel strangely pissed about it for some reason. Proabably because I don't like to let a game go without rinsing it.

Didn't have time to start from scratch with this so picked it where I left it a year ago (~60%). Finished it off yesterday after about 10 hours or so. Most of my comments have been made already.

Combat felt a bit button bashy for me, not to much skill in it and getting the big sword made it too easy I felt just as it should have been a true test of skill it turned into an easy part of the game.

That's definitely the main gripe, I had high hopes when I bought this ages ago as all the reviews and peoples opinions are so good, never quite lived up to the hype for me a year ago and finishing it now hasn't done anything to improve that slightly let down feeling Did enjoy it though, maybe just not as much as I had expected.
