Can you tell me about SNES Satellaview and SFC Jr?

I have found a few good sites for Satellaview info but can any fellow SNES nuts give their thoughts on the system - I know it cannot be used as intended any more but still an interesting old lump...

Seems quite hard to find a complete system, this one below looks nice but what about the price?

Can the BS-X game carts (downloaded or dedicated titles) be used with just the SFC on it's own?

Also, I have always wanted a SFC Jr to go with my US SNES and SFC. The Jr models seem very hard to find, plenty of SNES 2's from the US but a lot of good fakes are around:

VGI are selling a Super Famicom Jr for ?85. I got rid of my RGB modded one a while ago as I thought the picture quality was better on my old SFC.

Was there a Snes Jr in japan? I thought I liked the idea of one, but never likes the look of the American unit.

Yes indeed - the US model is known as the SNES 2, the Japanese is the SFC Jr. Not easy to find compared to the US model and the price reflects this:

You cant di anything with the Satellaview unless you get carts with games pre loaded, the service was shut off years back.

I played a transexualized rom of that once, was quite interesting, maybe SFC wasnt the ideal format for it.

F-Zero 2 is o.k. Same game but with dodgy looking crafts, but the tracks are tougher, and fun!

I went a bit SNES mentalist a few months back and acquired 3! 1 Boxed Jap SFC Jnr, A USA standard brick edition & a Aussie PAL Snes Jnr not sure if its legit or not tbh?
Why I will never know as I already have a custom modded Bomberman pain jobbed SNES
