    Harvest moon

Just picked up Harvest moon 2 for GBC(cart only) off ebay for ?3.50ish inc postage. Been looking to get this game for quite some time!

I loved the first one and quite enjoyed the GBA one although thought it started getting too complex.

Anyone else here love the harvest moon games?
Whats your fave one and why?

I gave the Gamecube one a try and wasnt too impressed but i'll give it another shot sometime as if its like the gba one i should love it.

Been playing HM2 non-stop today on the gameboy player on cube!

How does it compare to the GBA version? - was addicted to that...

I love the Harvest Moon series; quite liked the atmosphere of AWL too (but supposedly that's rubbish). Apparently the N64 one is the best if you're interested by the way though it's a US only.

I'd love to pick up the snes version someday. maybe it'll come out in the wii virtual console.

Harvest moon 2 on GBC compared to the gba one... its similar but alot simpler really.
No winter mine, not as large a overall map, no dating/love malarky, no harvest sprites and erm simpler graphics and sounds obviously.

I always start on them and then end up giving up. I've tried a lot of them but never got to the point of marriage - i'm useless I know. I just end up getting bored. Put a lot of time into the N64 one though - in fact, I may have got married on this one, not sure. I did get a few cows!

Played the PS1 version a bit.. Had plenty of depth, might go back to it. But it's coming out on the PSP..

Hang on. I'll dump the PSX cd and run it on my PSP. Yay!

I openly admit to being a huge Harvest Moon nut (I have an official t-shirt ffs!) The original HM is the one which holds the most memories for me as it was like bloody work, it was so hard! I'm still trying to track down a PAL HM3 which are pretty darn solid to get hold of. Don't be fooled by the blokes on ebay selling dodgy fake copies folks.

I got really into the SNES version when I was about 16 but the only other one I've played since then was the GBA version, which as others have said gets far too complicated. In the SNES original the workload was pretty much always manageable, but in the GBA I was trying to grow crops (very time-consuming), tend animals, mine for ore to improve my tools, forage for gifts for those sodding harvest sprites and play their god-damn minigames... It was all a bit too much.

Besides which, it seemed much more of an acceptable escape from reality when I was 16, but now I'm 24 and got bills to pay etc it seems far too much like work to be fun anymore.

Spent crazy time in Mineral Town and on the excellent PS1 version.

Shame the DS one is crap really, great little series.

Sorry I meant to say the GBC version. It was like real hard graft just to keep your farm running smoothly!
