In '86 after being bought an Acorn Electron and suffering its lack of plentiful decent games, I coerced my mum into getting me a 48k Spectrum+ in early 87. ****, so many great games - Skool Daze, Three Weeks in Paradise, Movie, Fairlight, Bomb Jack, Commando (better than the C64 IMHO), Contact Sam Cruise etc. etc. Even when I got a C64 later on Xmas that year, the Speccy still got major play, probably more than the Commodore.

I love the 'nite time' feel of the Speccy, with its internal speakers buzzing and fizzing and blipping and the games with their mainly black backgrounds and lashings of colour clash. That and the fact it was 'ours', a truly British computer, so technically crap compared to the C64 (unless you were a vector graphics whore) yet with an unending stream of software.
