Nah, they've just cut out a load of sprites and thrown them on the page. We've created a real work of art

Another easy cover, but you have to " Love it! "

Final Fight is in there too. I hope you say it's the best scrolling fighter ever. Streets Of Rage 2 doesn't come close

Why would they print a big fat lie like that?

And the EDGE cover looks a lot worse now than it did back then. The RG cover is much better, more focused. The EDGE one looks like a mess.

Two minor grip with all issues of the mag.

                        1) Retro Price Listings / Bargain Hunt - written by someone who appears to not have a clue, pretty much the same every issue and appears in every issue. Why not change to every 6 / 12 issues and make it a bit more in depth / revised?

Some prices shown there are highly conservative / fantastical, I think the opening words on the page should be replaced with something which describes more what to look for in a package which is worth more e.g. for vintage computers, check the serial number on the computer matches the serial numbers in the packaging and manufacturing cards, stuff like that, ?50 for a GX4000 is just wrong.. they may go for that sometimes but not very often!

Also this issues "retro auction" looked like it was done in 2 minutes, it says items of interest etc, but it just seems a number of Megadrive games which have gone higher or lower than "normally sells for" according to your "expert" have been selected off ebay at random, I think rare items, dev items and the like would be much more interesting than this "hee hee, it went for less than it was worth or hee hee he overpaid a lot!"

Wiz n Liz does not normally sell for ?10, Ranger X does not normally sell for ?15, sorry to be critical but I don't know who writes that carp

Also the adult pages in the back - I know this has been brought up before, apparently this is what your target readers want to see in adverts, and they call up these dodgy chat line numbers cause they want some middle aged woman talking dirty to them. Thats all fair and well.

I wanted to make an ad in retro gamer once, and the price was astounding, so no wonder there is more adult chat line ads than retro related stuff !

Other than that, I do like the mag a lot

Well actually, that scan is slightly distorted in terms of aspect, and it was wrap-around with even better characters on the back.

Also, SOR (2&3) beats Final Fight hands down, I'm surprised the SOR Remake didn't get the attention it deserved on this forum (in terms of discussion):

Darran, you're having a laugh. Biohazard Battle is my favourite MegaDrive shooter, and a total masterpiece. Did you lose your soul, or sell it?
