Excitebike 64 - Options translation needed

Just revisiting this gem and was wanting to take a look at the hi-res mode but it's the Japanese verion and there are a fair few options to navigate (I wouldn't mind knowing what the rest of the options do too).

Could anyone shed any light?

And is the hi-res mode any good?

It's rubbish.

The hires mode is really jerky. Stick with the normal mode.

This runs at 2 fps on me Xbox Gutted - it's the single N64 game I'd love to play.....

I could dig out me modded Jap unit but I'd need to source a copy of the cart = hassleicious

If only they'd stick it on the VC......

I'll stick with normal mode if that's the case, but it's still really handy having the options translation.
