    Monster Maulers: Konami Arcade

    Konami Arcade 1993

I remember the day I discovered this game in a backstreet brighton arcade in 94. It was a great moment for me, because the game looked so vibrant and exciting.

Fortunately, the game is very playable, so I kept playing for a good hour, and managed to complete it. Along the way, I defeated an enourmous dragon, a centaur, and other nasty beasts. The visuals are excellent, the audio is perfect(one stage has a Japanese song) and it's full of imagination and flair.

    Any other fans?

Never some across this before. I guess it came relively late compared to other scrollilng fighters.

How similar is it to Final Fight et al?

I should have said what type of game it is, sorry. It's a 1-on-1 fighter. Not the usual type though. In this, you choose one of three characters, and then travel the map taking on a monsters, in sort of end-of-level boss battles. It's quite unique in that respect, and fun.

I recommend playing it through mame.
