Galaxians or Galaga?

Really it baffles me that anyone could prefer Galaxians. Sure, it was earlier (I think), but the superior speed, bonus stages, enemies flying into formation at the beginning and possibility of double ships surely makes Galaga by far the better game. Yet a few reviews I read recently of Namco museum collections say Galaxians is the pick of the collection.

Anyone else think that's insane?

That ain't the issue here.

I can appreciate the historic significance of Galaxian, but Galaga (for me) instantly rendered it no longer worth playing.

Galaga, on the other hand, is still fun today. XBLA version still gets plenty of time in my house.

Galaga 88 on PC Engine is easily the best of any of these games. An awesome title.

I'm saying galaga 88 too, i bought the PCE version many years ago and now i've rebought just a core, i'll definitely be picking it up.

Galaga is better for sure, as others have said its one of the X-Box live arcade games that i play fairly regually and still enjoy.
