Road Avenger on Mega CD question

Is Road Avenger/Blaster on the Mega CD based on the Anime Riding Bean??

Wikipedia seems to say not but to my eyes the Anime & the game have a load in common (Mainly the cars & the animation) but it's something thats puzzled me since seeing the Anime a few years back.

Has anyone else noticed the similarity or am I just seeing things that arent really there at all??

No, the original version in the arcade pre-dated Riding Bean.

So it could infact be the other way round then with Riding Bean being slightly infleunced by the game

Like I said it's just me but there deffinitley seemed like they were similair.

Oh well at least thats that one ticked off my life's questions that must be answered lol

The two are completely unrelated, but both have that now sadly lost 1980s/early 1990s anime style which just looks so fantastic.

Road Avenger is a fun game, particularly on the Mega CD as it has a great intro song (at least on the Japanese version). The Saturn version had nicer video quality, but lost the song and had an uglier HUD...
