    New/good condition GameGears

    Where might one buy one?
Mine gave up the ghost long ago, or rather I chucked it out due to really mushy d-pad, scratched screen and the contrast on it finally giving up either being too dark or too bright but colour visibility being almost zero. The light bulb was still ok though
Anyway, where can I get a new one? Don't care if it's a modern remake really, I'd just like a new official/licensed one.
    Ta!

I bought one of the last remade ones, kept it as new, not sure what it's worth tho. Your best bet is prob scour ebay...

A lot have audio problems due to faulty surface mount capacitors, screen problems due to deteriorating connection between LCD and mainboard, power problems due to dodgy joints on the power connections and more..

So you can find one in great condition but with one of the above problems..

Hmm... bugger... do Tectoy not still manufacture them for Brazil or has that stopped now? I have a Brazilian/Japanese (great mix!) friend. Would this be a good avenue to try?

Or you could try buying several Game Gears, strip them for parts and construct a single working system. That's what I'm thinking of doing as mine is on the way out..

Can't remember exactly what I got but I sold mine which was in decent shape (sound, screen and so on worked fine - none of the usual problems) a while back on ebay for bugger all. Got about £20 iirc with a few games.

Yeh, it's weird, a bit like Spectrums, they're not that common any more yet fetch sod all price, which is why I binned my old one as it was past it instead of selling. Was going to sell the games but I can't part with them. Pengo GG = best version

TecToy haven't made any GG's since around 1996 - aside from the Master System (& MegaDrive, to a lesser extent), just about every console they released tanked over there.

I would certainly recommend eBay, picked up a very near new complete and scratch free one only last month with 5 games on there for ?34.
