It's crazy how much MD stuff is being developed lately. A lot of it is rough and scrappy, but they've got to crawl before they can run. Some of the tools out there are really making light work of some stuff too. Would love to see what we've got in front of us in a few years, if it keeps up I might be able to come full circle and be playing new MD games into my retirement - a thought that gives me mixed feelings.

Many look nice, but I'm particularly fond of the Splatterhouse port.

The Saturn is not a system you think about when it comes to digital Pinball, but there are in fact quite a few pinball games on the System. Here we go with every Sega Saturn Pinball game ranked!

Fed-up of seeing all those videos made by tourists going to Tokyo or Osaka thinking they know it all?

Here we go with a video filmed in what the average Japanese person experiances as I visit japans's best gaming store chain in a regular city.

Thanks, enjoyed that. Gonna definitely check Suragaya next time! Last few times I've been to Japan game shopping has been dire. Used to use Yodabashi Camera in Machida but it's gone rubbish so been taking pot luck in Book Off.

Ah, yodabashi camera around here has always been poor for gaming. Softmap used to be good but now it's Hard Off for the junk section (some good deals in there) and Surugaya for the good stuff. Although prices are nuts for the most part.

Oh man, back in the early 2000s, Geo was fantastic for gaming. So many amazing deals and so much choice. I haven't been in a Geo for about 10 years now. How is it these days?

To be honest I haven't been in before Covid but yes it was always good, I remember picking my fat PS3 up there for not much more than £200 if I remember correctly and there was a stack of used Gamecubes at the door going for £9 - but the exchange rate was mad, 242 Yen to the £, just before our economy went boom.

Last time I went prices on some of the second hand stuff seemed to be going out of control Toaplan Shooting Battle on the PlayStation second hand was £90 - though the exchange rate was around 150 ish - again if memory serves.
Our branch is small but well stocked, had a look on Google Maps last night and a lot of Geo's are going into rental shops it seems, when we get over there end June/early July I'll have a nosey. Daughter is with us this time so she will want to visit. Plus we have a Hard Off down the same drag and I'd like a PS2 if poss.

Sounds like great time when you bought your PS3. The best exchange rate I ever saw was back in March 1998 when it was a whopping 260 yen to the pound. Man, I bought so many Saturn games back then. All of which are still with me
Geo has always been a video rental shop mind you, but one that also sold games.
Based upon ads I see on TV, they sell alsorts of bollocks now as they figure out what they want go be. They're big on the used phone market and even do phone contracts. They're also selling things like Electric blankets and frying pans 😅

Crikey 260! No wonder, in 1998 that would have got you lots of stuff.

Thanks for the update, if they don't do games when I pop in I could always bring back some cookware.

How would you live a GBA with HDMI out? The Ambernic RG34XX could be right up your street.

I did mention the Mega Drive version on the English-language Internet, albeit not on a video: https://bordersdown.net/forum/gaming...35#post2499235

Considered buying it but I decided to "have a think about it" and that's my usual opportunity to become distracted and completely forget it exists. I can't remember how I found out about it but I think it's because I followed the publisher on Twitter. Looks alright so I'm glad it plays well.
