Playing PS1 games on PStwo skipping audio issues..

Nope, I do unfortunately not have any of those games. But I have Final Fantasy Tactics US-version and it works fine for me in-game at least. I will soon check if the sound skips in the FMV-intro, like it does for you.

ooh.. forgot about my Final Fantasy Games.. Just tried FF VIII and the fmv intro when you start a new game (the bit where you start on a beach and it zooms over the ocean) that skips/jumps every few seconds but doesn't cut out..

The game seems to play fine... all sound effects present.. no music was playing so don't know if it skips in game..

Games will usually load fine (albeit take a bit longer due to skipping), but the audio and video will always skip if it's streamed off the disc. FF8 doesn't stream the audio from the disc, so will play fine.

Either way, laser is on the way out. I assume you tried the diagnosis option?

I just watched both FMV-intros from Final Fantasy Tactics. The first time I watched the "introduction"-FMV for FFT (the short one) there was a sound skipping in the middle. But the second time I watched it, the sound skipping was gone! There was no sound skipping at all on the second longer intro where the war of the lions is introduced.

In FFVIII there was no sound skipping at all in the beginning of the "new game"-intro, but then after about 70% of the FMV was shown, there was a sound skipping and then a few seconds later another sound skipping occurred. There also was a small sound skipping the second before the end of the FMV.

I have not tried other FF-games yet, but this is how it is for me at least. I did not find the sound skipping as disturbing as the in-game music sound skipping in Einhänder and Ridge Racer Type 4 though. I will try the diagnosis later on.

[EDIT]I just tried the diagnosis-mode in Einhänder and unfortunately i did not make any difference! :-/ Maybe I should buy one of those CD lens cleaner discs?[/EDIT]

Awesome! my brother picked me up a laser from a place in stevenage only cost £7 and I just fitted it this morning.. Has fixed all the problems everything plays.. no skipping and it was a 2 minute job..
