Saturn MPEG cards

Hi

Over the years my bro and me have managed to build up quite a large collection of saturn games. However saturn MPEG cards have been almost impossable to get hold of. Till now I have seen a JAP MPEG card for sale and my question is

Will a japanese MPEG card work in a UK saturn which has been modded?

I know there was a uk MPEG card but it is so rare it's a joke to find.

Yes, it will, as long as set to the japanese region of course

The PAL cards are bloody rare but please don't spend too much on a JP one, they are a dime a dozen here.

Hmm, the best card to get in the Hitachi one apparently. I own all 3 types and to be honest can't see any difference between the Sega, JVC and Hitachi cards. The JVC one also works photo CDs so you don't need the operation disc unlike you would with the other two cards.

What happens if your saturn is set to pal when you turn it on?

I know there are a number of games which are enchanced by the cards.

How many games used the MPEG cart btw ?

Gun griffon original Japanese version, Lunar Silver Star MPEG version, Vatlava and a couple of others.

Funnily enough, the MPEG intro on Lunar looks inferior to some of the Truemotion stuff on later Saturn games. I was very underwhelmed.

that's true but just wait until you see the special TORICO MPEG version!! Only a preview though The intro to Gun Griffon is amazing though. Amazing quality!

Nope I'm 99% sure that they took it out. Still the PAL version of BUG uses True Motion while the Japanese one uses cinipac so the UK did get something better than Japan
