Legend of Mana for PSX - 1/2 discs?

Just something that baffled me a bit... does anyone know why the Japanese release of Legend of Mana comes on two discs, yet the US release is only one? Can't seem to find out if the extra disc was just bonus content, or some stuff was removed from the US release. Anyone know?

Are you getting things mixed up as I'm sure I used to own a Jap copy and it was only one disc...

japanese squaresoft releases came with a disc of demos/videos of other squaresoft games. legend of mana came with square preview disc vol.5 (containing demos of front mission 3, dewprism, chrono cross and vagrant story)

Ah yeah you're right, just checked out a JP copy on ebay and can just about make out the words 'preview disc' on the 2nd disc. Thanks
