Secret 4-player mode in MK3 for Megadrive

So, I discovered an interesting new thing about the Megadrive today - apparently there is a secret 4-player mode in the Megadrive version of Mortal Kombat 3!

You hold down A and C and press start to access it. It's not 4 players simultaneously, but you do need the official Sega multitap to use all the four players as it is a sort of survival mode with no breaks between the matches, so no time to hand over controllers.

Each controller chooses where in the roster they enter the fray, and away you go. Anyone else knew about this?

I got outbid on the last Multitap I would have tried this n all!

MK3 I believe, although I don't have a copy of either MK3 or UMK3 to hand myself to test it out - but I have been reliably informed by someone with MK3 that it does have this mode.

GameFAQs has it listed, though it says you also need to press B.
