Somewhat coincidentally (what with Fable 2 coming out soon and getting the urge to play it again), I just finished Fable myself, and I actually found it far more difficult to get an evil character without being quite deliberately evil. By the time I'd finished the game (Lost Chapters version) I'd already maxed out my 'good' alignment for quite some time. To be fair, I didn't take too many obviously evil options, but the main issue seems to be that killing most enemies in the game nets you good alignment, so you'd actually have to go out of your way to be evil (mainly by killing villagers and guards, I would think; the majority of the quests I think can be considered neutral, sometimes with a good or evil choice involved, whilst there are very few obviously 'good' or 'evil' quests), whilst it's fairly easy to just 'default' to being good.

As for my actual opinion of the game, I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it. I think someone else in this thread has already described it as 'charming', or I might be projecting that, but I think it's the perfect summary of it. It is also a uniquely British game, as people have said, which is a rarity. I think Lost Chapters also added a good degree of value to the whole experience,

even though it didn't add much to the plot overall, I did like the additions, and in particular, the wrapping up/improving of some of the other Heroes

Incidentally, I dug out my old Xbox to play this rather than on the 360, and I found it had some pretty bad framerate issues especially in the new areas - so, maybe it's not the 360's flawed BC, but the Lost Chapters edition of the game itself; perhaps due to being originally developed for the PC then ported back to the Xbox.
